So Tell Me....

I know these are ramekins but what i'm wondering is how do you clean these things?? I got them for next to nothing at the thrift store so I'd like to figure it out:) I have some just plain white ones that I got from Wal*mart that say right on the bottom- dishwasher safe.

These are made of clay type stuff and have a shiny coating inside.
Can't wait to here from y'all:)

  1. I wouldn't put them in the dishwasher as the bottoms don't look like they've been glazed. I'd soak them in soapy water and use a plastic scrubber to get rid of spots that need help dropping off. You can use them in the oven but not over a direct flame. They are a find and I'm sure you'll love them. They look to be a perfect size for individual flans.

  4. Hey, thanks for posting on my blog today! I will also become a follower of yours:)

I have some ramekins like this, without the glazed bottom, and I just soak them in soapy water for awhile and then attack them with a scrubber!

  5. These look like the little pots that are so often used by cheesemongers in France. I have one just like it that I took home from my last trip to Paris. It once held a lovely soft cheese and now I use it to hold my Kosher salt.

In any case, I wouldn't put them in the dishwasher. Simply wash by hand, gently and dry.
